    Default Non-resident Muzzleloader class question

Talking to a friend in AK about a Muzzleloader draw hunt. He said I need a muzzleloader class certificate. Any options for out of stater? I have CCW in MI but no muzzleloader class required of offered here. Thanks for any help you can give.

    Default Muzzelloading class

There are sum areas there you need to have the class then there are other that you don't. Go to alaska fishandgame web site and you can read up on the reg yourself be sure you know all the reg up here there alot of them.

    Default muzzleloader draw hunts...

i can't answer your question, but you are correct. for any "muzzleloader only" hunt you must have a ML certification to apply.
this is the first year that this has been a requirement, in years past you could apply for the hunt and take the class if you were drawn.

    Default

See if your home state has a course and that may be approved by fin and feathers but not don't take my word for it.

The various states that require muzzleloader classes for special hunts have reciprocal agreements. I.e., classes from one state are recognized in another. For example, my Alaska certification will qualify me to hunt in restricted hunts in other states, and visa versa.

Double check with your state to make sure it is in sync with Alaska, and take the class locally.

And if you're hunting with a muzzleloader during the regular season and not a restricted, primitive weapon only season here in Alaska, you don't need the certification.

Have a safe trip and a good hunt!
