Just brushed about 100 lbs of snow off the canvas top on my boat. Should have left the beam and tarp up, but last week got me excited.

    Unhappy

Its my fault, I took the tarp off the day before it went back to winter a couple weeks back. Little weather trivia: My father remembers when it snowed over a foot on this date long ago, it was his brothers birthday -thus he remembered the date.

8" here in ER and snowing so hard I can't see the hill behind the house. Gonna be messy when it melts. Sure is pretty though. Reminds me of the first big snows of the season. Better go clean the boat off again.

    Default Checked

Checked shrimp pots this morning. Not very good but I think the waves of Thursday dragged them shallower than dropped.

Yeah.....it is supposed to be 48 on Monday though. Of course, that doesn't help us out much THIS weekend. Looks like we might be back into stupid snow and rain on Saturday/Sunday cycle again. I hate that....

Default Well on the bright side

Those of us who run the rivers will have a lil more water. Actually not much additional snow in Fairbanks, just sort of drifting down and melting. Sure is messy tho.

    Talking I'm loving it

Maybe this will push a few more people over the edge and get them moving back to the lower 48. If your reading this and planning on moving back south, make sure you tell everyone what a horrible, inhospitable place Alaska is.

You think you have it bad, I sent a new 32 foot boat to a friend that will be picking it up in Anchorage on Monday morning and driving it back to Ninilchik. It will be a slippery one for him. Gerberman

Just drove up from Homer yesterday afternoon and the roads are dry for the most part. Very nice drive. Your friend will have no problems with the road. I don't think we hit ANY ice or snow on the roadway the whole way from Homer to Anchorage.
