    Default Halibut Hook Size?

When fishing herring or flounder bellies for halibut what size circle hooks would be best?
One more question, what # leader material is best fishing from the beach? I will be using 65 or 80 # power pro main line. Keep in mind I don't expect any piggys, hopefully a few chickens.
Thanks in advance for your help.

14/0 should be good. I wouldn't go any smaller then a 12/0. I use them on my boat. Biggest I have is the 20/0. I use that for the salmon head. 80 # power pro main line will be good enough. I don't knot if you know this, but power pro line recomends you use only one tying knot and the is the Uni knot.
