Default Seen some duck hunters out last year....

Running out on a skiff, said they did okay. Pulled into one bay Early Nov last year and there were huge flocks of black sea ducks landing, not sure what they were, but I didnt have duck hunting on my mind then, but will be sure to carry a gun next season.

Might pick up a few decoys this summer and give it a go. I figured I perch myself on a point with a few decoys out and see what happens.

Gary, were they Black Ducks that you saw, or ducks that were black? Big difference, as the Black Ducks are related to mallards, whereas the ducks that are black were probably scoters . . .

I don't think you'll be seeing any black ducks up here. Even if they are related to mallards.

    Default Black duck not!

Large rafts of black ducks with orange bills. Black scoter, also related to the white wing(nikey sign near his eye) and surf(puffin looking bill).happy shooting!

I talked to a buddy who hunted out there a week or so ago and said he didn't do very well and didn't see the birds he usually does, he is haning it up for the year, too much time and money for a couple sea ducks, $20 for the tunnel, $20 to launch and $10 to park, not to mention gas.

If you have a couple of guys to do the trip then it would probably be worth doing. I am trying to figure out a way still to get out the last weekend before the season ends to get one more hunt in.
