    Default Petersburg Black Bear

Any information to share about hunting Black Bear by boat in late May around Duncan Canal?

There are a few posts about this floating around, infact the post right above / below this thread about it.

Petersburg must be the popular place this year

I recommend it. There's even boats to rent there, Doyles or something like that.

My take on it is this:
F&G issued their stats that Kuiu Island had the largest average black bear size.
Petersburg is accessible via AK Air from Seattle or Juneau.
    Non-residents can hunt blackies un-guided.
You can get to the Duncan Canal area relatively easily (like with a skiff) even in less than perfect weather.

It's kinda like hunting deer at Eaglecrest in the fall... everybody that can't get someplace else for lack of a boat or plane, goes there.
