    Default thank you

now that you have provided pictures maybe some people will belive what i was saying. i had this happen 2 times last year and had a friend wife scream and refuse to fish anymore. i did not have time to get a camera i was busy trying to get the rest of the family unhooked and fishing. i have seen this in PWS and heard it on the radio of other boats running in to this last summer. wondered why but as long as i am there it sure beats having to pull them up from the bottom. very nice pictures and thank you. jeff

    Default been there done that

3 years ago had the same thing happen "Near Flat Island" - probably 40 or 50 Chickens came up and hung out top water style for about 10 minutes, then all at once went right back to the bottom. There wasn't a bigun amongst em

    Default Halibut

Just curious where your friend is from.My dad and I took my cousin and his buddy from Oregon to flat two days ina row and brought halibut to the surface like that.We took video reaching in and grabbin em right out of the water,They would also eat bait right out of our hands and they did some fly fishing also. They put our video on the 6 oclock news in Oregon. It was pretty wild to see it on tv.I have heard of other people in Homer coming across like this also.

Anchorage, the video was taken about 4 years ago, says he hasn't been back to the same spot since. I believe I would be making regular visits.

I have had this near flat island.. Really neat to see.. They were only chickens swimming. We switched to light gear and had a blast.

    Default me too

Same for me at Flat Island 3 years ago. Could have netted one. Took movies of it, had the camera on night shot so I screwed up the pictures.

    Question

Did they follow a hooked fish up, or were they just milling around?

And for us SE folks, I see that same thing maybe twice each year at one of my spots between here and Sitka... Never pulled anything bigger than 30# in the school, but great fun. I've often wondered how my 8wt would do against a small 'butt.
