    Default User Name Change

    Dear Forum Members,

I asked our webmaster to change my screen name of alaskanauthor to my real name of Bernard R. Rosenberg. I did this to quell any misgivings any member has about my residency status, as I do live in Florida year round.

I selected alaskanauthor during a domain name search in 2003. This decision was business-related in support of my first Alaska fishing guidebook that was published by Amato Publications during that same year. This domain name also continues to support the distribution of my second Alaska fishing guidebook that I self-published three years later.

I never imagined that using it as a screen name on this directory would cause resentment to some, but it has. So, in the spirit of cooperation, and with the advice of other members, you will now see all my future posts under the proper name of who I am.

Most of my comments typically center on the advice I give the non-resident. Twenty years worth of traveling, researching, and compiling information about Alaska fishing has given me a wealth of information, and I am fortunate to have found ways to share it.

The non-resident sport fisherman is a powerful contributor to Alaska’s economy. Their sport fishing license numbers were almost 175% greater than last year’s resident angler. Some are first-timers. Others are on the return. All of them seek information. This directory is the largest Internet provider of that information and I am pleased to be a part of it.

    Sincerely,

    Rosenberg/Florida

    Question sheesh

Im just amazed at how some people get wound up about a screen name. He is an author. He writes about alaska. Hence the name. I enjoy his books even as a long time resident of alaska and I did send him some pics to use in one of his new ventures. Thanks for the info and keep up the great work

    Question Screen Name...What!!!!!

Are you telling me that SalmonSlappy, HornyHumpy, 'Butnugget and all the rest aren't really their first names?

Everyone needs to lighten up a little.....this forum has to many critics (word bully's) sometimes.

    Smile User Name Change

Um my name is Todd but sadly I no longer live in Anchorage. If its ok with everyone I would like to change my username to Todd Peters Creek. Has the winter been that long that people are getting crazy, I would prefer you to stay AlaskaAuthor.

    Default Poser Screen name?

I think your should have changed your name to JediMasterAlaskaAuthor.

More fitting if you ask me, I feel the Force is strong in the one called Rosenberg.

May the Force Be with You.

Welcome Bernard, but now you have me thinking, the people of Maine might have a problem with my screen name being I no longer live there.

    Default Mainly Maine...

Mainers are so laid back I doubt any of them would even raise an eyebrow to your screen name.

    "How 'bout them Sox?"...
