Nice looking shrimpers but you are just rotten for sharing that. Actually not but I had to throw that out there. Im sure they will be enjoyed greatly and I am jealous.

1.75 Liter glass bottle of Crown Royal on the boat. And it would not fit into the shrimp pot. Sorry! I haven't had a beer since I left Viet Namn in 71.

    Default Perfect !!!

I was joking about the beer as I have heard that is what people used to leave in pots they pilfered. Crown Royal is "about" the only adult beverage I drink while on the water (or should I say when anchored up for the evening ). Just stuff a bunch of the 750 ml bottles in and call it good. If you have to, you can cut a few wires at the opening and bend them open to accomodate. I can fix that.

Nice looking shrimp - didn't see many small ones.

Default Sorry I didn't take any pics

Went out today. Soaked the pots with some buddys and let them down there for about 6 hours. Produced 202 total and my new bait produced 96 shrimp in two pots. But split between 4 guys and 50 shrimp a piece later will make a good meal, I am pig on shrimp. Very happy with the first pull of the season.

Great way to spend the day! Just happy to see the weather finally break. Glad you made it out had a productfull day Daveinthebush.

For you who don't count, it was 2 gallon baggies chuck full of just the tails.

Be on the look out for DMAN"S post very soon....he made it out Friday afternoon and was able to get four drops in fri/sat.....total of 868 I think he said.....can't wait to see some pictures of the trip.

PS....it sure is nice to have a son in law that doesn't mind taking his pa in law out on the water from time to time.

    Default Oh well

I was pleased. I set real close to town trying to save gas. Usually I get skunked close to town. I can haul a set in 3 minutes or make a 1 1/2 run to the old setting grounds. So with gas prices I will stick to town for now.

I have wondered how those Whittier guys do so well and I finally found a chart showing the population concentrations of shrimp in PWS. You guys are in the hot zone over there.

Glad to see people getting out. There were five or six boats that launched today in Valdez.

Close to town sounds good if you can get the shrimp. These days gas prices will definately be a factor on how far out a guy goes. DMAN is real good about doing his research before he spends his resources on a trip. He has founds a great spot for sure.

My best spot is alittle way out there. With the gas prices I will have to fall back on my other spots.
Might have to target the rockfish more this year. Can get them real close to the harbor.
