Thread: Last trip out.

    Default Last trip out.

Took the dogs out for our last stand for this year. Weather and the snow conditions were perfect. After walking into my favorite coyote muskeg, we found a nice depression under a spruce tree and started blowing on the rabbit in distress mouth call. After about 3-4 minutes both off my dogs stood up in a defensive posture and looked over my right shoulder. About 30 feet from me is a wolf coming in for a rabbit dinner. I had time to grab my rifle and the wolf took off running. Her big mistake was stopping to verify what she just saw under the tree.....my .22-.250 slammed into her chest and her moose killing days were over. While skinning it out, I remembered that I didn't take any pictures, so all I can provide is a rug on the snow.

Congrats! I bet the blood was flowing when you spotted that wolf.

    What bullet did you use?
