Default AWESOME king on the cover of FishAlaska

Just got my copy in the mail. All I can say is WOW!

    Spectacular chrome fish.

    Great background/composition.

Crisp hi-rez quality shows every detail of the fish!

King? I just picked up a copy from Costco on Monday, and the cover shot is of a shark tail held by a guy on a Kayak. Is May's issue already in the mail? Man...I really just need to get myself a subscription and save some money.

Yes the May 2008 issue came in today's mail.

Photo credit goes to Brian Woobank.

Probably the most stunning covershot since the magazine launched in 2002.

That would be my guess too, Doc promoting his own pic or pic of his brother.

    Default fish photo doc

Doc has some of the most original fish photos I've ever seen. Who else jumps out of boat to cradle a king at Mud Island? Hope I can release one when his boat and camera are near me. I think I'll let him jump in the water though....

Where's the 14 follow-up photos Ty? I am honestly 100% SHOCKED not to see at least a dozen of your photos following that post.

PS. "promoting his own pic " Pot calling the kettle black, by the way.

Just ribbin' ya Ty. Don't blow gasket or head seal!!!

PPS. Hey Doc, can you scan in the image and post it here? For those of us that don't get that magazine, we'd like to see the cover shot....even if it is YOUR relative. Poser.

I would scan it if I had a scanner that worked.... sorry, Parquito. We'll just have to see if we can muster up a comparable C&R version of a big chrome hawg like that for you when you come up in July. Hit the gym and get that bouncin' arm ready.

    Thumbs up

Just go my issue yesterday. It' a nice cover shot of a 45 - 50 lb buck King. Just starting to turn blush below the caudal fin. Looks like a Matsu Valley fish. I wish there were more details on what the guy hooked it on, and where.

What are you talking about? I kind of like the kayak shark cover shot myself.

    Default Doc in Fish Alaska

I was just reading a back issue today at the eye doctor and noticed a pic of the Doc with a nice king, I got on to compliment him only to find out there's more.
