    Default Halibut From the Beach

What is the best place on the Kenai Peninsula for surf fishing butts in the fall, Homer, Anchor Pt., Deep Creek, Ninilchick? I plan on giving it a go this September as weekend getaways from the Kenai crowds.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Sept might be alittle tough. The halibut will start heading out to depper water then. There will still be some around.

From time to time you hear people catching Halibut from shore. I know people at the end of the spit in Homer will fish the left side (bay side) and they catch Pollock and Cod in good numbers.

I've heard that halibut will hole up off river mouths gorging on dead pinks being washed out into the ocean.

Vote number two for concentrating on river mouths.

Pretty interesting on the river mouth theory. Do the butts come all the way up as high as Hope? I imagine a lot of dead pinks end up out at the mouth of Resurrection Creek. That would be a ton of fun catching butts right there.

Yes like in Seward. Off of Fourth of July Creek is good if you hit it right time.
