This weekend, the National Park Service and about a dozen partner land managing agencies and community groups are sponsoring a "Greatland Junior Ranger" program at the Sportsman Show. Kids (say ages 4-12 or so) can pick up a paper visor either at the arena door or at the NPS booth under the Sully scoreboard. Then go to a half-dozen partner booths and do brief activities related to parks, public lands and Alaska resources. Come back to the NPS booth for a final activity, then get a Junior Ranger badge, certificate and enter a drawing contributed by our partners. I worked the show last night, and we minted maybe 50-60 new Greatland Junior Rangers! See you there.
