I'm coming up to valdez in aug of 08. be doing a little fishing and shrimping. The shrimping is new to me . I'll be dropping 3 pots per line. the Question I have is how much rope you put between the pots? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd suggest 50'-100' between pots. Cover the ground so you aren't fishing on top of yourself. But what do i know

    Default Non-Resident

If you are a non-resident you may not shrimp.

SOUTHCENTRAL ALASKA PERSONAL USE FISHERIES - Page 16

    • Only Alaska residents, as defined on page 3, are eligible to participate in
personal use fisheries. Nonresidents may not participate in personal use
fisheries. For example, nonresidents may not handle any of the gear or operate
a boat that is being used for personal use fishing, or have in their possession fish
harvested in a personal use fishery.
    • “Personal use” is the taking, attempting to take or possession of finfish, shellfish or
aquatic plants by an individual Alaskan for consumption as food or use as bait by
that individual or his immediate family.
