    Default fluting

was wondering if anyone has ever fluted the barrel of a muzzleloader. Im looking at a TC triumph for sheep and wanted to lighten it up a bit if possible. Any ideas?

The Triumph is pretty light to begin with so I don't really think you would need to flute it. I think it is just over six pounds.
Compared to my other guns my triumph is a joy to cary.

The Omega Im selling has some fluting done to it. Not much. It weighs about 6lbs. I dont see any reason they cant be fluted

I'm sure they I'd however be afraid of getting to deep and splitting or blowing out a barrel due to the pressures involved. The rifle was made that way for a certain reason, you might want to try the manufactorer before you go ahead and get some custom fluting job done only to blow your face away .
