Question Rings for Tikka T3 Lite

I am going to be buying a Tikka T3 Lite for a goat hunt this fall. I know that it comes with rings but I have read mixed reviews on these so I am planning on buying new rings for it.
I have read that the Tally One Piece are pretty good. I found these in Brownells and they come in two sizes; medium and high. The scope I am putting on it is a Leupold 4-12x40.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Mediums will be fine, I ran mediums on a 3.5-10x40 with room to spare.

I'm running the medium height Talley rings on my Tikka T3 Lite with a 3-9x50 Leupold Vari X II and it still doesn't touch the barrel. I've also used a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x50 on the same gun with no issues.

Could any of you guys take a picture of the Talley setup installed on one of your Tikkas? I'm just curious if my scope would have to be mounted farther back because of how the one piece mounts to the gun. I have a Leupold VXII 3-9x40 on mine if anyone has a similar size scope on theirs.

    Thanks, schmidty

Here is a pic of my Tikka T3 Lite .300 WM with a Leupold VX-II 3X9 on it with the Talley rings.

    Default talleys

    akflyfisher,

I have talleys on 3 tikka's. A 4x12x40, 4.5x14, and a big 4x16 monarch. All 3 wear talley [ low ] mounts, and have room to spare. Hope this helps. I ordered directly from talley, and they are great to work with. Check out their website, and go from there. And that Tikka WILL be a tack-driver.
