Default At what point do dogs stop growing?

I was looking at buying my 1 year old dog a hunting vest for his birthday on the first, but I don't want to buy one and have him grow out of it a few months down the road.

Basically what I am asking is, when is it a good time to get him a vest?
Some people call it sky busting... I call it optimism

I feel your pain. It is common to have to upgrade as your dog matures. Depends on the breed and the structure of your dog.
For me, retrievers get tall before they gain width. They get wider and achieve more muscle mass at maturity.
    8 - 10 months for height then maturity(full mass) at about 2 or 3.
