    Default Denali State Park

I have read the hunting regs and they state that you cannot rifle hunt within 1/4 of a mile from the road in the Denali State Park area but I had someone tell me the other night that you cannot rifle hunt within 1/2 mile of any structure in the park boundaries. I have looked all over the hunting regs and cant find this in there. Does anyone know if there is any truth to the 1/2 mile rule.

I would check with State Parks and Recreation or the Alaska State Troopers. State Parks vary when it comes to discharging firearms and the park boundaries. Some are 1/4 mile from the boundary, some 1/2 mile, some it's ok as long as you are outside the boundary and some don't even clarify it.

    I know this first hand... don't ask.... : (
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and donít have one, youíll probably never need one again
