Default Who's do'in the winter king derby

Just wondering who was going to enter the derby this year and who's rid'in the couch, not me my buddy and i are getting his boat ready now. check the battery's and there good so all we have to do now is get a trolling motor bracket and install it and fill with gas and we are on our way unless it gets postponed cause of the ice. We will be in a 21' bayliner trophy with the name "Anger Management" so see u out there

I'm thinking about it. Also need to see if I can get it out of storage. All this snow melts and then refroze around my wheel wells. I know if I get there it will be a great time, but to make that long haul for one a weekend will be expensive.

That haul to homer for one weekend is pretty exspensive but look at the outcome if you were to be the lucky one $18,000+-.To me with that much on the line i will go spend a few hundred even tho my chances are slim to none but you can't win if you don't play so........

Jerry at Seward Heavy Industrial told me to disconnect the intake hose and stick a funnel in the hose. Keep the funnel full of anti-freeze until the pink comes out the water exhaust ports for a second. He gave me a diagram showing this. (I actually use a different hose)
No freshwater flush, just the anti-freeze.

Right Of Way is my boat. Stop and give me a hint on what I'm doing wrong!

Has anybody heard what the ramp is looking like? Ice free I hope!

    Default i wish i could

I would love to participate in winter king fishing but im scared to take my 18ft flat bottom out in very unpredictable sea's. I'll start in April.

I'll be there...Looked at the Harbor a few days ago and there was ice near the lauch out to about 100 yards. Looked kind of broken up but that was right about the time the warm weather came in so you'd think it would be good now.

How crazy is it to launch your boat that morning? When I signed up they gave me a free launch pass and said you could get a free slip for the night also...

We were going to do a $50.00 side bet and $50.00 skunk bet...

I'd like to try and make it down, although I've never done very well trolling for kings. Not sure this would be the time to perfect my technique.
