Default Idle Problems After It Snows. What Causes This???

I Have A Grizzly 660 And Love The Machine. Only One Problem, After It Snows, Particularly Blowing Snow, It Will Not Stay Running. It Idles Down And Cuts Off. The Choke Wont Keep It Running Either. A Mechanic I Spoke With Said Some Part Of The Carberatur Was Getting Clogged With Snow/ice And It Wasnt Allowing Air To Come Out Or In Or Something. Otherwise, The Machine Is Flawless. Any Ideas On What Would Cause This. Any Advice Would Be Appreciated.

I would check the plug wire as it maybe getting a water there or around the coil or coil pack whatever it has. I would look there first. To test if I am correct get a spray bottle of water and spray it on the plugs wire and coil and see if it cuts out.

    Default what year....

is your griz? Do you have the fuel boiling/water shield kit installed? Yamaha retroed all machines after 2002 to correct a problem with water hitting the engine and stalling it out (surely snow could do this) and fuel boiling in the tank/carb in hot conditions. I love my machine, but before I had it fixed with this "kit" it was tough to deal with. Easy way to tell if your machine is fitted is to look at the side panels...Are they vented or solid plastic? The vented ones offer the breathability your machine needs and should also have the inner shields in place.

Ever try adding some "heet" to the gas to remove the water?
