    Question Skid plate material

I have read about the PETEX but what else is being used for skid plate material. Just looking for options. What do you use for your home made skid plate?
    Thanks

Peetex is good material but so is the aluminum from your dealer. The stock stuff needs to be replaced ASAP. I have one 03' Eiger that still had the original stuff on the bottom and the rear crossbrace is now busted. Something now to weld up. My 660 Grizz has Yamahas aluminum thru-out, good stuff.

What's PETEX or peetex. Googling either gets no "hits."

aka UMHW -Buchers Glass sells it and forgot the other place in Fairbanks. Plumbers also use it for wrapping underground fixtures in spetic systems of sorts or they have here where I live. You can either buy it in sheets 4x8 1/4" up to 3/4" is all I am familiar with or in whatever length and width and thickness for runners or building sleds as we do.

It eventually breaks down from ultra-viol. rays, take some time though.
    regards,
