I have been climbing Lazy Mountain every month all winter. Today and 2 weeks ago the snow is in almost perfect condition. I do use 6 point instep crampons, but I don't know if they are really needed. At 25 degrees and lots of sunshine, this has been an excellent winter to hike there. It seems that there are at least a dozen hikers daily on good days. Today, when I came down, the wind was picking up in the parking lot...on top was virtually no wind. IMHO, this is the best time of the year to hike as the trails are even better than when dry in the summer
