    Default Late season shrimping

Will be shrimping and fishing in and around Cochrane bay in the sound late August. Is this too late to do well with the shrimp?

You'll do great. We did good right up to the last day of the season last year, which was Sept. 15th.

    Good luck....AkBillyBow

Now since you told us your spot, see us (100 boats) around you

That is a good time. Shrimping is like fishing. It can change from day to day.

Seems like almost every year that I shrimp that late, the shrimp that I get and cook end up being mush. I'm going to try this year to get my shrimp this year earlier to try to avoid a repeat. Plus, I hate ending up having to waste all the shrimp that ended up mushy.

    Gary,
I think you'll be ok shrimping then but in my experience i see a lot more egger shrimp later in the season and they do seem to have meat that is kind of chalky & softer, guess its due to them getting closer to the spawn.
