    Default trapping lines

Does anyone know if the state or alaska trapping assioc keep a map of the trap lines for the Fairbanks area.

If they dont, what is the best way to see if a trap line already exists in a area that I would like to establish my own trapline?

If you have an area in mind then get out there and scout it out, I assume you would be doing this anyway to see if it's worth the time so look around and see if there's any signs of trapping. I would also see if I could find someone who might be trapping near the area and ask if they know as most trappers know who their neighbors are, ATA is also an option........

.......I used to live in the area near Chena hot springs......last time I talked with Joe and Sandy Mattie at Alaska Raw Fur,they told me the ATA up there was working on delineating where people's lines were on a map......Just for info, not legal, purposes, though. ...And ,yes,....after joining (I recomend) and talking with the folks from the ATA ,just get out and scout, like like some others have suggested. Also, continue to communicate with other ATA members even after feeling like you found an area.
