    Default Dumb question but...

ADF&G Regs state that an unweighted fly is a fly that weighs less than 1/4 ounce.

Is this when the fly is weighed dry (un-wet) or when it is weighed wet (after it has been cast into the water)? I would expect that there would be a great difference in weight between a bunny fur type fly that is wet and one that is dry.

I'd say dry because the water is not part of the fly... Ever try casting 1/4 oz flies though?
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
