I'm headed outside this week to Northern California for a special season targeting Aleution geese. They are staging in the north coast areas, getting ready for their flight back to the Chain. The point of the hunt is to make the cattle grazing fields less appealing to the birds. I plan to do my part. The daily limit is 6. It sounds good on the suface but about 5 minutes after the season opens they get real smart. The trick is lots of decoys (150-200) and numerous callers. I'll be back in March and post how it went.
