    Default Anchorage area in april?

I'm bring the family to the Anchorage area in mid April to explore for places to live and job hunting for the wife. I was looking for some possible suggestions for any fishing for the family if we can work it into the time. We will be there for about 6 days and looking for a couple of fun things to throw in to the mix. I would really appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks

April's a tough month for fishing. You may be able to get into some early rainbow fishing if the creeks are open, or in early April you may be able to get one last shot at ice fishing if the lakes are still solid. Offshore in Deep Creek the trolling for kings might be just starting to show some life, and halibut would be a possibility out of Homer. Other than rainbows or possibly ice fishing, though, there's not much else that comes to mind.

try the mouths of parks highway streams for bows.
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
