Anyone ever ice fished Windfall? Lovin life? Hating life? Worth the effort to fish and haul gear up there?

I've had better luck at Twin Lakes (through the ice) than I have at Windfall...

I use to ice fish at Windfall Lake back in the 80's and it was usually good fishing, always a memorable experience with the winter scenery and solotude.

Thats probably true, but I have no interest fishing those stockies. One nice cutthroat is worth ten of those things, imo. Or can you catch a wild fish in twin lakes?

    Default Windfall lake

I used to icefish windfall when I went to high school in Juneau. I always pulled some nice cuts out of that lake, Nice walk too.Like you said catchin anything wild is much better than any ol stocker. Fishing there was always a little slow to start then the bite always just seemed to kick in a little later on.Good luck.

Need a good set of crampons in the winter...:P (snowshoes as well)

I've heard of people doing good at Windfall - Peterson lake might be worth a shot as well?
