Default north end of montague black bear

thinking of hitting the north east side of montegue for black bear this year. would like to do a combo early halibut rockfish bear combo. was jsut wondering if i should focus on the northeast side of montague or id be better off hunting the eastern side of knight on my way there and back. just looking for opinions here not prying for anything too specific. in the past ive hunted the northern region of PWS and there are bears but the halibut fishing is better south especially earlier on in the year.

    Default Black bears?

I'm no expert on Montague, but it was my understanding there are no black bears on Montague due to the high brown bear population. Per fish and game black bears "are absent from some of the large islands of the Gulf of Alaska, notably Kodiak, Montague, Hinchinbrook.."

I've hunted Hinchinbrook, and there are no black bears.

Default maybe you meant brown bears?

There are no black bears on that island. To many brownies. Just like Kodiak/Admiralty ect.

You might also want to check the map. There are some native lands on Knight Island and in Southwest PWS you'll want to avoid.

edited to add: Some native corporations charge a user fee, if you want to hunt on their lands.
