    Default PWS deer?

I would like input on the hunting results for Sitka deer in PWS this fall/winter.

I think a lot of people had bad luck this year in PWS. Me and some buddies did not fair very well on montague. We saw less than 20 deer in 10 days between 3 guys.

One guy from work went to tenneke and said he didnt even see a track.

Remembering some of the older posts I got the impression that it was a poor year.

The sound was supposed to get hammered by snow this week too.

I might go to Idaho for deer this year

That is what my daughter and I experienced on Montague over a two day hunt and I was wondering if others saw reduced deer numbers also. Thanks.

One day of hunting we only saw one deer and managed to get that one.
It was to warm and no snow when we went in Nov.

We hunted 5 days. Counted 14 deer and took 8 of them...

We went in the beginning of October and didn't see very many. Saw eight including a doe with her fawn. Their was no snow and the signs were up high. We took four deer that trip and all the deer were up high. We saw far less deer this trip than the previous two that I have been on.

My daughter and I were down there on Oct 7 and 8 in a place where we have seen deer for many years. We didn't even see any up high when we glassed that area. We did see a couple of fresh tracks near our camp but they had to be moving after dark as we watched around there just before dusk and first thing in the morning. We hiked quite a bit during both days.

we went out to perry and only hunted about 3 hours because of weather but we saw two and took one. My first winter here and first time hunting in the sound and I had a real good time. But if this was a bad year I cant wait for a good one!

HA HA HA! Got an invite from a buddy that has been hunting out there for 12 years. Always helps to know someone that has been there and done it!

We did work for them. 28 miles on foot in 4 days.
