Default Petersburg: Need advice about fishing

July 05,2008 will be my 2nd trip to Island Point Lodge. The last being 5 yrs ago. On that trip we had good luck with Kings and Sockeye but didn't have exceptional luck with Halibut.

Halibut fishing was done in the area of Level Island, using a spreader bar & frozen herring supplied by the lodge.

Can anyone offer any advice as to where and how to catch Halibut in the Petersburg area. Also is there anywhere in this area to target Rockfish and Ling Cod. Thanks for any info.

ditch the frozen herring in favor of pink or chum salmon...
There's fantastic halibut, ling, rockfish and sable fishing all over Frederick Sound... Can't go wrong just about anyplace from Cape Fanshaw all the way up to Hobart Bay.

    Bohica,

Where are you from? I am beginning to want to trade spots for spots. I know plenty about halibut fishing in P-Town, but I want to know some info about other places as well. Lets trade spots. Send me a PM.
