Question Synthetic Stock for Rem. 700 guns

Does anyone know if I can get a good synthetic stock for my Rem. 700? I know I can get one off the internet for about $80, but would like to find one locally just in case I have problems.

    Default Synthetic Stocks

    Rimrock http://www.rimrockstocks.com/
    McMillan http://www.mcmfamily.com/mcmillan/
    High Tech http://www.hightech-specialties.com/

Those are my favorites, definitely more money, but a good synthetic stock too. I've used others and they worked, but I like these the best.

If "locally" means Anchorage or the valley, check with Rick Steinhour at Extreme Rifle Works in Wasilla - he handles mostly MPI stocks, but can get what ever you want.

I personally like HS Precision composite stocks, which I believe are made with kevlar, fiberglass and carbon fiber, though I can't say for sure. They have a full-length aluminum bedding block and Rem. is the make that they cater to the most. You can get it in different colors, all of which look pretty cool with the black fibers throughout.

I got one for one of my model 70's at Sportsman's Warehouse here in WI a few months ago on sale for $200, probably the best deal in a top-notch stock. Cabela's also has them.

I have an HS on my M700. A bit heavy but a quality stock. 10X better than the factory. JMO. J.

I've been happy with my McMillans, but all recent purchases have been Brown Precision. Both are a lot more money than you're talking, but you get what you pay for with either of these companies.

Something closer to the price you quoted....

I have a factory synthetic stock for a long action 700. It's a brand new ADL- style stock. How's $50 sound?
