Default Coast Guard Class in Anchorage

I am negotiating with an instructor to get a 100T coast guard class scheduled outside of normal working hours. All of the "schools" I've contacted so far insist on conducting their classes M-F, during daytime working hours.....something I can't do.

The class is a 100T Master class (80 hours), which I'm told will qualify for other licenses as well, such as OUPV, Inland Master, 25T, 50T, etc., depending on your actual sea service time.

Anyway, I have three people ready to go, but I wanted to see if anyone else wanted to join us. I don't have an exact schedule yet, but we're hoping to start in the next week or two. Classes will be held in Anchorage, in the evenings and on the weekends. The cost of the class was quoted at $1000, but may be reduced, depending on the number of us students.

If you're interested in something like this, shoot me a PM, and I can provide more information.

No firm start date yet, but our class will Tues and Thursday evenings, plus some weekends.

I will post more details when I get a firm schedule from the instructor.

Can you list the pre-requisites or pre-quals to take the class?

As far as I know, there are no prerequisites to take the class. When you get go to apply for a CG license you run into prerequsites. Here's more information: link

Click on the "Charter Boat Capt." tab on the left to see the requirements for the various licenses.
