    Default Antler Help

I have set of antlers that when I took the animal where still in velvet. Apparently when I removed the velvet some the actual outer bone came off with it. I stained the antlers and I now have a dark spots where the outer layer of bone came off. Also on the tips it has ugly spots of dried hard blood that didn't stain well. Is there a way to fix these antlers?

Don't panic just start over. Spray the entire set with KILZ white sealer primer stainblocker. If the tips are rounded, you can sharpen them by sanding with sand paper. Then the KILZ, after they are dry use a gel based stain. Go slow as a little goes a long way and you add but not take away. Good Luck

After, a used a homemade stain on these.
