    Default September Sheep

I have an opportunity to hunt dall sheep in the Alaska Range this fall. Available dates are either 9-1 through 9-10 or 9-10 through 9-20. Which dates are typicaly bettter? Is the weather significantly worse than late August? Thanks

    Default Sept sheep...

I prefer early Sept, only because the days are a little longer, and the weather is a little more stable. In early Sept the rams are moving out of their summer range and toward or into their winter range. Of the 23 rams I have watched fall over, 10 of the biggest 13 were shot in early Sept. On my personal 13 ram kills, the largest 6 were harvested between Sept 1st and Sept 6th. The smaller rams were harvested in Aug.
    ...just my experiences...

1.Best dates? who knows....mostly depends on weather
2.weather often (but not always) gets worse (e.g. wind, rain, and snow) the further into Sept you get.
