    Default Dipper On Ice

Found this little Dipper on a pond at Elmendorf Air Force Base. How do they survive the cold winter after so many dips into the cold water?

    Crazy!!!

I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

    Default Stonefly

Yea, that's what this guy was doing, about every 30-seconds he would come up with a stone-fly. Amazing!

Nice pic, what size lens were you using? My longest lens currently is a 70-200 F/4 w/1.4 Extender. I tried to get some good pics there, but woulda needed to crop to get closer image.

The image is not cropped and the lens is a 100-400mm IS lens. I didn't use the 1.4 teleconverter this time. This bird was at the lake for a few weeks and then disappeared. Moved on I guess. Thanks for the comment.

I like the DOF on this shot. Gives you enough to get the 'feel' of the area but doesn't take away from the subject.
