Default Ski installation – right of left ski

I have Landis 3000’s ski’s that have id numbers of 13000-1 and 13000-2. Does anyone know which number relates to the right and left ski? And is the right or left side determined from an interior reference?

    Thanks,

The lower serial number is the left ski. Normally this is marked on the data plate as well. It is important that you put them on the correct sides as they have different camber angles and you will have them not correctly setting flat with them incorrectly installed. Do you have your STC for them, it explains it all?

guess we learn something new when we keep our eyes and ears open.....

I stand corrected, if this is so? My 2000's do not have dash ##

The 2000's don't have dash numbers, but individual serial numbers. The lower (odd) number is the left ski. Landis now stamps left and right on the data tags along with the serial numbers, but I am not sure when they started doing that. The STC drawing installation outlines the left/right serial number relationship.

Looking from the rear with the ski on a flat surface, the inside (toward the airplane) of the axle bushing will be higher than the outside.

-1 is left and -2 is Right the hole in the pedistal goes toward the fuslage. Do you have the STC print? It should tell you.

    Default STC

Thanks for all your input. I called Landis and they want $200 for a new STC. I'm sure this is the way to go.

    Thanks,

    Jim
