    Question Dutch Harbor Halibut?

I'm gonna be in DH in August, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with Halibut charters there. Any recommendations? I am looking for something that will chase after the big'uns. I can catch all the chickens I want in Homer, but am looking for a different experience here. Thanks!

    Default Dutch Harbor Halibut

Try getting in contact with the Grand Aleutian Hotel. They will be able to get you in touch with the charters. When I was out there, (from 1999 to 2002), there were 2 charter services that ran good sized boats to get you out where there is good fishing. One was run by one of the police officers but he moved to Kenai/Soldotna. Don't know if he still runs the biz, but he was the best. Name of the boat was the Suzanna Marie and just before he left he got a new 47 foot vessel. Try the links below. I can honestly say that halibut fishing there was the best. The world record was caught just off the island in view of the Eagle store. Have fun. And bring your rain gear.
