    Default Fishing near petersvile????

Looking at taking family out the weekend after next. I was wondering if anyone could point me to a lake near trapper creek area. I will renting a cabin near by. I'm not looking for your hot spot or to invade on your area. Send a private message if you want. Looking to find a spot for any type of fish mabey even pike. Just looking to keep the kids interested in ice fishing. Thanks for any info you share.

i have fished amber lake a couple times with some luck. 5-6 hammerhandles both times. one of my buddies said that he saw a 36" fish get iced a couple years ago though.

amber lake is down oilwell road. take a snowmachine as it is a large lake.

Just back from Petersville area. Lots of deep light powder on the lakes + overflow in some areas. Offroad ATV use not advised.

south rolly is pretty poor fishing. Great fishing up there in the summer
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

I would advise against travel on Skilak, was in the area sunday and it is far from frozen. There is enough ice however to prevent launching a boat.
