Default Is it a legal Ram?

This is the ram in question from the "I want to becoming a better sheep hunter..." thread. Similar angle on the head, but a little different look at the ram. Is he legal?

Sorry about the clarity of the photo. I carry a video camera and it is rather low resolution. It gets especially fuzzy if you get out into the digital zoom at all.

I have some others that I'll add to the thread after a while, so lets call this Ram 1.

    Default angle and chin

gimme a photo with his chin parallel to the ground/or more level...looks just like a ram I shot in 2006...F&G said he was full curl and 9 yrs old

It is not a full curl but I would bet it has an excellent chance of being over eight years old. If I could not find eight rings he would walk for me. I do see at least eight though.

What makes me think he would be legal is how wide his tip are. If his tips werent wore down that little bit I bet he would be full curl.

His profile almost exactly matches the adf&g picture. He is only slightly looking down.

    Yes, he is legal.

Hard to really see him with the background clutter. I say he is 8 1/2 and not quite full curl.

Ram 2 - Tough to tell if he's a full 360 degrees from the angle, but judging by the mass of the horns, I would bet that he is over 8 years old. He looks like a beaut!

Incidentally, most video cameras allow you to turn off the digital zoom. Since it gets so pixelated past the optical zoom, I just keep the digital zoom turned off.

I would call ram 2 the same as ram one except that I cannot see rings this time.

    Default Both legal

Bet the bank if you took them to F & G in ANC they would say legal. I would have not passed on either one.

I agree with the 8.5 years on the first ram and looking at the far horn tip of ram #2 or should we call him the second ram he looks like a full curl to me. I would wait for a better view though I would bet he is probably 9 y/o. #3 does not look legal to me but a better view may prove me wrong

In the second picture, it looks like the ram on the far right might be broomed, so another possible legal ram maybe?

He's broomed on the right but not the left and short of full.

    Default 1 & 2 legal

1st ram has a tip parallel with horn coming out of head = full curl by a sheep's hair.
2nd ram far left side is full curl too, r side broomed.
    3rd ram can't tell - don't shoot.
ring counting is only effective if horns are in hand or at least nearby (unless you work for F & G then still a toss up.

I would say Ram 2 is legal and probably in the process of getting ready to go on the wall...Ram 1 and 3 is close, but if they are still alive today, they will be legal this season.

Carnivore: your rams,1 and 3 are lined up for this coming sheep season...unless those are Denali rams....CK

    Default Jail-bait

Ram #2 looks like a winner, but the rest look like jail bait, a least from the images provided. I need better profieciency counting rings...

    Talking Legal?

    Carnivore,

You know my opinion, in pic two, bottom ram was a legal bruiser, ram on left WAS legal and this year I say we put them both down! Already preparing my gear! Bloods pumping now!
