Thumbs up Trail Report Winter Park Cabins Willow AK. 12-20-07

Merry Christmas From Willow! Good news it started snowing about 2:30 and they are calling for snow showers all weekend. For all of you waiting to hit the river I got some news from Luce's mile 10 on the Yentna, he had some Iron Dog guys come through on Sun. They came out on Fish Creek Trail out of the Big Swamp. Also he said there is about 18"+ of snow out that way. If you head out that way watch for overflow and be careful. They had open water out of the Deshka Landing about 2miles down.
So now Willow got about 9" of snow and temps are getting above 0. We had 30 below last night, which is great to freeze up the river. We have been out groomming some of the closer in trails including Willow Swamp Loop. Remember that Nancy Lake State Park is still CLOSED to snomachines. Watch out for the guys and dogs out mushing! And if you need to know how to get around in the Willow area maps are avalible at EAGLE RIVER ARTIC CAT POLARIS, Townsite Grocery and Liquor, Willow Island Resort and Hatcher Pass Polaris.
So from WINTER PARK CABINS and The Willow Trail Comm. MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

    Default Some!

They got 8" new snow over about 12" of base. but the trails are bumpy getting to the good stuff. It's still to early for any thing but boulder riding!
