    Default Local Fish & Game Advisory Committee meeting updates

    The Mat Valley Fish & Game Advisory Committee will meet January 2, 2007 at the MTA building in Palmer to continue discussion of the UCI BOF proposals and prepare comment for the BOG Statewide proposals. For more information contact Denny Hamann at 373-5938.



    The Tyonek Fish & Game Advisory Committee meeting will be held January 4th at 11 am at the Tyonek Tribal office to hold elections (three 3-year seats), prepare comments for the Statewide BOG proposals (comments due January 11), and prepare comments for the Upper Cook Inlet finfish proposals.     The Denali Fish & Game Advisory Committee will meet January 8th, at 7 pm at the Cantwell School Library in order to comment on the Statewide BOG proposals and the UCI BOF proposals, as needed and Interior Region BOG proposals if available.     The Anchorage Fish & Game Advisory Committee will hold its election meeting January 8th at 6:30 pm at the Anchorage School Board room, located at 5530 E Northern Lights Blvd. There are five 3-year and two 1-year alternate seats available. Also on the agenda will be discussion of the Upper Cook Inlet Board of Fisheries proposals, and finalize comments for the Statewide Board of Game proposals.     The Cooper Landing Fish & Game Advisory Committee will hold its election meeting on January 9th at the Cooper Landing Community Building at 7 pm. Also on the agenda will be continued discussion of UCI BOF proposals, and prepare comments for the Statewide BOG proposals. For more information, contact Bill Stockwell at 595-1540.



    The Seward Fish & Game Advisory Committee will hold its elections on January 10th at 7 pm at the Seward City Hall . Also on the agenda are preparation of comment on statewide game proposals, review the culvert drawing, and discuss drafting PWS BOF proposals.     The Copper River/PWS Advisory Committee will hold committee elections on Thursday January 17, 2008 at the Cordova Moose Lodge at 7 p.m. 2008 Board of Fisheries proposal submissions will also be discussed. For more information, contact: John Renner 424-7563 or Tom Carpenter 424-3101.



    The Homer Fish & Game Advisory Committee will hold its election meeting January 22nd at 6:00 pm at the KBRR annex. Also on the agenda will be preparation of comments for the BOG statewide proposals. For more information contact Marv Peters at 235-2468.



    The Central Peninsula Fish & Game Advisory Committee will hold its election meeting January 23rd at Ninilchik School at 7:00 pm. Also on the agenda will be preparation of comments for the BOG statewide proposals or any other business that may properly come before the committee.     The Kenai/Soldotna Fish & Game Advisory Committee will hold its election meeting January 24th at the Kenai River Center at 7 pm. For more information contact Gary Dawkins at 262-3993.



    The Board of Fisheries will hold public hearings on January 30th at Lake Lucille Inn in Wasilla , AK (to begin at 2:00 pm) and at the Soldotna Sports Center (I believe to begin at 5:00 pm). These meetings are to allow public comment for those who may not be able to travel to the BOF meeting in Anchorage for the Upper Cook Inlet fisheries proposals, which is being held February 1 12 at the Coast International Inn.     The Kodiak Fish & Game Advisory Committee will hold its election meeting February 12th at 7 pm at the Refuge Center on Center Avenue near the ferry terminal. On the agenda will be preparation of comments for the statewide shellfish and supplement proposals. For more information contact Chair Oliver Holm 486-5967 or Secretary Don Fox at 486-4738.

    Exclamation c'mon down!!!

    very rarely do we get much input from sport hunters not already on the AC, would love to see more community participation down here.
    i am really surprized no one but AKPM had commented on the moose subsistence hunt issues i brought up on the game management thread...if those proposals pass and there are no more moose in the chugach and tustemena trophy areas because of it i won't have much sympathy for whiners down the road...
