Default Anyone ever fished Larson lake

Outside of Talkeetna? Either in the summer or winter? If so shoot me a PM if you can. Thanks.

    Default Me too

Hey! I'd like to know too. My wife staked out 20 acres on the side of Bald Mt. 30 years ago in one of the last decent land sales in Alaska. We've tried hiking in to it, but Larson Lake is impassable in the summer. Need a snowmachine. Gorgeous area though....

I'd wager a guess that there are burbot, lake trout and rainbows in it, I have no clue though
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

Can't imagine that there isn't some Rainbows in Larson Lake. A good number of Sockeyes run up there in the summer time, although the counts have been down the last few years, and the bows usually follow. Good luck!

How far is your property from the lake. I have some land and a cabin now on the opposite side of the lake from you. I read on the Fish and Game site the fish that are supposedly in there but was hoping to get some feedback from someone with real world experience to back it up before I haul a shack and gear all the way back there. It is definitely a cool place to explore at the very least.

I've heard Larson is awesome for Burbot, which makes me highly interested. C'mon snow, hurry up and fall!

    Default Larson Lake

Ask Mayormack. I've seen him up there. I would agree with akpm though.

Larson Lake is considered a Wild Lake.

Try this link, lots of info on species and other details.
