    Default boat motor options

I have a 22.5 ft woolridge with a new 115 yamaha short shaft jet. I want to remove the jet replace a prop for the salt water. Whats my options and problems to overcome. Will the prop be low enough or do I need a motor jack and or will I still have problems. Anyone have experience in this or reccomendations

You'll probably need an extension kit for the engine....(its like a spacer that goes in between the gearcase and stackhousing...)

That should do it for ya....Talk to your yammie dealer, they should be able to set ya up with one...

A 5 inch extension kit from Bay will cost (I am guessing here) about $700. Then you will need a prop. This will permit you to run the prop about an inch or so above where the factory recommends it be set at but I doubt you will suffer any ill effects from it.
Using the Bay kit will allow you to install the prop and run it without having to remount the motor.
Also suggest you call the guys at Wooldridge. They love to talk about there boats and how to make them work for you.

There is the problem. Yamaha saids they do not intend on making a extension kit for the 115/90. I wish I would have known this befor I bought the motor.
