Getting in and out of the field when you are supposed to, having reasonably good weather and great companionship in the field!

    Smile double luck

Out of so many, a couple stands out (1). Taking a platinum blond 8'3" grizzly, two black bears and two black wolves on one hunt, and (2) taking a record Muskox on the last day of a 12 day hunt with one hour left of light. I never coined the phrase "I'll take luck over skill anyday", but I sure agree with it. Ciao.

    Default Some...

Not as much 'luck' as some of you lucky ba$ta*d$ but here's probably my best.

First sheep hunt- Opening day, Friday creek- diy hunt with my hunting partner- hiked up from the knik river, heavy hunting pressure. Opening morning lucked into a band of 19 rams and killed 2 (36x13 and 37x14). 2 sheep on both of our first hunts by 10am on opening morning.

    Default My luck

Having a 17 year old son and a 13 year old daughter that still like to hunt with dad is just as lucky as a guy can get.

    Now thats funny.
My wife never hunted, never shot a gun and never really fished. 8 years later she loves to go shoot and has probably put more rounds through my redhawk than I. We just picked out her first rifle and have been planning our moose hunt for next year. She is still not ready for sheep (to hard/long) or rabbits (she thinks they are cute).

    Default Lucky Hubby

My wife loves to go fishing and hunting. She doesn't want to catch or shoot anything but she is the first one cleaning or gutting the game!!

I agree that's some great luck, but if she also had a Jeep Wrangler and could cook...well how could it get better than that?

My wife loves to shoot. I got her a 300wsm mod70 that she loves. We have four kids so its hard to get out.

We do get out fishing some in the summer though. We do all fit in the boat.

    Default just my thoughts

First off, my father in law taught me that the "Harder he worked, the luckier that he got!"

Secondly, putting the smack on a nice bull up on the haul road back in Sept, 5 guys lined up by the road--Grace of God that they chose to walk by me and not them.

I really miss alaska, hopefully the army will let me come back someday soon!

    Wayne
