Question On building a 450 Marlin scout rifle

    98 Mauser question:

The item is a - Barrel, .458 Win Mag, Sporter, 24, Adams & Bennett - F44 Contour, 1-14 Twist. Its short chambered .50

Could this barrel be modified to chamber 450 Marlin Cartridges?

Default From 458 short to 450 Marlin...

    Whatever,

Yeah, sounds like it. The belt part of the chamber would need to be cut deeper. The 450 belt is wider(requires deeper chamber cut) and I think the 450 is 2.10" and the .50" short 458 would be 2.0", so a 450 reamer should work ok, and give correct dimensions. Check with a good smith. If you have a loading manual that shows the dimensions of the calibers that will give 458 and 450 and you can compare.
    Should work, good shootin'.
