Default Bait used to catch lake trout

I was wondering what peoples opinions on using different bait to catch lake trout were. Herring, or other bait fish. Has anyone used sucker meat which are found in the same lakes that the fish live in. Would sucker meat work better than say herring or sardines. Thanks for any info or opinions anyone has.

How will you catch the suckers? I've never seen them to be particularly agressive biters.

    Default Suckers

I have found a bait shop online that will ship them here.

    Default Good 'ole shrimp

.....works well. Tip it on a swedish pimple and jig it or put it on a small lead headed jig.

    Thats what we always use.
