    Default New to Anchorage

Im from Cordova and came up here to anchorage to go to school. Im just wondering where the closest place is that I could try and sneak up on some rabbits or ptarmigan. It sounds like Arctic Valley is a good bet but im confused as to where I can hunt back there. Any other suggestions would be good.....thanks

go east (upstream) from the bridge. I have been west and didn't see anything. There is a 1/4 mile shooting restriction along the glen in that area, but beyond that you are wide open. Also remember that the RR tracks are private property of Alaska RR so you can cross them but don't walk along or on them. It is a decent spot but pretty heavily hunted. Pretty much any spot you get on the open forum is gonna be like that since no one will post their honey hole. The further you are willing to walk the better you will do most anchorage hunters are LAZY, and the valley folks tend to have a spot off the beaten path. Good luck you should be able to get some bunnies in that area, especialy if this snow has flattened the grass.
