    Default Bears still out?

    I was just thinkin about going out stomping through the snow and maybe do a little calling so i was wonderin if the bears were still out, or are they piled up for the winter...

    I would almost guarentee the brown ones are still out and maybe a few black ones. Many people find Griz all the way up to Thanksgiving.

    cool, thanks! those are the ones i want anyways... got some griz close to home i bin wantin to get on for a while. might go out and give'm a call...

    Their still out up here, was reading about some Brownies causing trouble around some cabins down at Cook Inlet.

    seen a blk bear here in fairbanks yesterday too bad he bolted too quick for me and wasnt really ready anyway.

    I seen a black bear on Sat. down around Indian Creek. He wasnt very high up either.

    They're still wandering around out here on the AK Pen. Not many but enough to where I'm not going to be doing any night calling for foxes and yotes yet.
    That's like calling an airstrike on your own position.
    Now what ?

    Would make a great rug if only it was in a huntable location, no season in this area. Here is a pic of what I believe is his track.

    Harvested; Nov,24,07



    Seen it around for a week and decided to carry the 30:06 on the trapline.
    I did not get a good measure but I guess 8 1/2 ft squared. It is at the taxidermist now getting tanned and skull cleaned and bleached.

    Looks like your aught six did a fine job. Bear stories this time of year are thin, tell us more.
