Default Using a Dog to help pack

Anyone out there use a dog with saddle bags to head to the high country? Just curious how that might have worked. thanks.

Default Dogs do good up. Suck going down

I have done it with my Pitbull terrier.

She did great going up the hills but has a hard time controlling her pack going down.

A heavily laden pack would be a deathwish for both you and your doggie if you decide to take them down a chute.

Dogs seem to enjoy the country and can climb well.
Make sure your dog is adjusted to wearing cordura booties and then carry spares.

They complain less than most hunting partners.
