    Default Kenai Penisula grouse

Has anybody had luck locating a regular supply of spruce hens? I have been walking around with my son and not found the magic spot yet. Hunted around Summit Lake area with no luck so far

The trick anywhere to see spruce hens is to go moose hunting and not to carry anything smaller than a 44 mag. You will see hundreds at least that is my experience the same also goes for ptarmigan and caribou hunting.

I have been out the last 3 weekends in a row around the kenai area. If you go down snug harbor road at about 12 oclock you will see gouse. Almost hit a few with the truck, that flew into the road

    Too true!
I always see the most game when unprepared or have the wrong equipment.

    Default KP Grouse

I biked in to lower Russian lake 2 weeks ago w/ my son looking for black bear (saw none) and we flushed about 20 birds. Good luck.
